CITY OF JEWELS

I used to feel in residues of gray

a monochrome rainbow rich in

platinums and silvers

emulsions meticulously applied

like

milk washes on rusted glass

violet undercurrents melted

the mildew, mapping

new

constellations of iridescent light

now i live on golden hillsides

in a city

of lavish jewels

— me
